Health Care Commission: 43 new confirmed cases, including 36 local cases

August 2, 0-24 hours, 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 43 new confirmed cases, of which 7 cases were imported from abroad (3 cases in Jiangsu, 2 cases in Shandong, 1 case in Liaoning, 1 case in Guangdong), 36 cases in China (28 cases in Xinjiang, 8 cases in Liaoning);
10 new cases were cured and discharged from hospital on the same day, 560 close contacts were released from medical observation, and 1 case of severe illness was reduced from the previous day.
95 confirmed cases (of which 2 are serious cases) and 4 suspected cases have been imported from outside China. A total of 2092 confirmed cases, a total of 1997 cases cured out of hospital, no deaths.
As of 2400 hours on August 2, 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had reported 781 confirmed cases (of which 35 were serious cases), a total of 79,013 cases had been cured and discharged from hospital, 4634 cumulative deaths had been reported, 84,428 confirmed cases had been reported and 4 suspected cases had been reported. A total of 791,776 close contacts were traced and 21,585 close contacts were still under medical observation.
