    Zika virus (ZIKV) is a mosquito-borne RNA virus belonging to the Flaviviridae family


    Recently, Zhang Jiancun's research group from Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Yuan Jie's research group from Sun Yat-Sen University have designed and synthesized a series of new nucleoside inhibitors for ZIKV, and obtained candidate drugs that can inhibit ZIKV


    RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) has always been a popular target for antiviral drugs, and nucleoside analogs can target viral RdRp and incorporate nascent RNA strands to terminate viral RNA replication


    This study designed, synthesized and evaluated the inhibitory activity and structure-activity relationship (SAR) of a series of novel 6-methyl-7-ethynyl-7-deazapurine nucleoside analogs against ZIKV


    Researcher Zhang Jiancun and Associate Professor Yuan Jie are the co-corresponding authors of the paper
