" Swedish Daily" reported on November 5 that according to data from the International Organization for Import and Export of Wine (OIV), global wine production in 2021 is about 250 million hectoliters (HL), a decrease of 4% compared with last year, and compared with the average of the past 20 years.
The level has dropped by 7% .
OIV director Pau Roca said that the decline in production was mainly due to poor weather conditions and declining production in the main wine-producing regions of Europe (France, Spain and Italy) this year.
In particular, French production fell by 27%, the lowest level since 1957 .
In the future, the wine industry needs to adapt to climate change and achieve sustainable development .
