Germany provides financial support to farmers in the Jiulongjiang Delta to produce green rice and mangoes

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), together with the German consulting company GFA and the Rural Development Sub-Bureau of Anjiang Province, has just organized a delegation to visit and learn about the production of
cooperatives in Anjiang province.
This is one of the activities of the "Green Innovation Center" project (GIC), jointly implemented by GIZ and the Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of
Vietnam.

The project will be implemented
in six provinces and cities: Anjiang, Jianjiang, Houjiang, Tongta, Can Tho and Shuozhuang.

In An Giang province, the goal of the project is to contribute to the sustainable development of rural areas in the province by promoting the promotion and diffusion of innovative models and solutions through various agricultural products

Camila Consultant, Sub-project Capacity Building for Cooperatives and Farmers at GFA Consulting? According to Kamila Tovbaeva, the main goal of the sub-project is to improve the cooperative's ability to acquire advanced technologies and provide commercial training to farmers to reap the benefits
of rice cultivation.
Between now and 2023, GFA will provide consulting and business training
to around 8,000 farmers to 90 cooperatives in six provinces of the Jiulongjiang Delta participating in the Green Innovation Hub project.

The total investment in the project comes from 7 million euros
in non-reimbursable official development assistance from the German government.
The People's Committee of An Giang Province pledged VND 1.
9 billion to participate in the project

The project will be implemented from 2021 to 2025, with rice and mango as beneficiary industries
.
The goal of Anjiang's agricultural sector is to improve the efficiency and quality of farmers' agricultural products and gradually achieve sustainable development
along the rice and mango value chain.
In particular, the application model of multiple innovative solutions is implemented in farming to minimize environmental impact, improve product quality and competitiveness
in domestic and export markets.

Specifically, the goal is to help farmers reduce their water use by 40%, agrochemicals by 25%, greenhouse gas emissions by 40%, and pesticides by 60%, thereby helping farmers participating in the project increase their incomes
in the rice and mango value chains, respectively.
