After the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia, the General Administration of Customs sent a letter to the competent authorities of 105 countries (regions) involved in the export of cold chain food to China, and held a video conference with the competent authorities of countries (regions) where conditions permit, asking them to comply with the requirements of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization.

In order to ensure the implementation of source control measures, the General Administration of Customs has strengthened supervision and inspection, and conducted remote spot checks on the implementation of relevant FAO and WHO guidelines and the operation of food management systems by overseas competent authorities and enterprises through the video inspection system

As of September 7, the General Administration of Customs has inspected 76 meat, aquatic products, dairy products, and frozen fruit companies in 30 countries (regions)

In addition, in response to the cluster infection incidents of some cold chain food production enterprises exported to China from some countries (regions), the General Administration of Customs closely tracks the epidemic situation of overseas cold chain food enterprises, analyzes potential safety risks, and takes risk prevention measures in a timely manner

Customs across the country have carried out new coronavirus risk monitoring on imported cold chain food.

The General Administration of Customs stated that China Customs will continue to strengthen cooperation with the competent authorities of exporting countries (regions), strengthen source control, and strictly prevent imported cold chain food including meat from being exposed to the new coronavirus and other toxic substances during the production, processing, storage and transportation.

China is a big meat importer

Since 2019, according to the international animal epidemic situation, the General Administration of Customs has suspended the export of Polish poultry meat, Hungarian poultry meat, Irish beef and Kazakh mutton to China.

Guangzhou Customs conducts "zero-contact" supervision of imported products such as frozen meat in the whole chain

Since the beginning of this year, Guangzhou Customs has implemented a new model of "zero-contact" cold chain supervision of the whole chain in the Nansha area of Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone, increased the application of "smart customs" construction achievements, continued to optimize the port business environment, and successively attracted Hejie cold chain.

"Affected by the epidemic, the logistics was slow, and many original certificates of meat and aquatic products exported to China could not be delivered to us in time, which affected customs declaration

It is understood that in the certificate review stage, the enterprise realizes remote real-time transmission of the scanned copy of the certificate through the "Document Delivery" function of the "Internet + Customs" customs area characteristic government service (Guangzhou) platform, and customs officers use the "Smart Certificate Review" system to Hygiene certificates of frozen meat and other products undergo "full-page identification", intensive display and intelligent comparison of regulatory information, and the review time for a single certificate is shortened from about 20 minutes to 2 minutes.

"After the goods that we declare for customs declaration arrive at the port, the parts that do not need to be inspected can be diverted from the side of the ship and directly lifted off, and the goods that need to be inspected are quickly transferred to the inspection center for quick inspection under the condition of maintaining the whole cold chain environment, which is effective.

Nansha Customs relies on the closed cold chain inspection and storage integrated facility newly built in 2019 to carry out "closed" inspections
