Prime Editor (PE ) is a new type of genome editing tool that can achieve arbitrary base substitution and precise deletion and insertion of small fragments at the target site of the genome.
Recently, Caixia Gao's research group and collaborators from the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences published research results, and successfully established a more efficient and widely applicable new guided editing system ePPE ( Engineered Plant Prime Editor ) in plants
In summary, the researchers successfully developed a new guided editing system ePPE that can achieve efficient editing in plants by focusing on the modification of the protein components of PPE , and proved that the combination of ePPE and the existing pegRNA optimization strategy can further improve the editing efficiency.
