On September 24, 2021, Ge Liang's research group at Tsinghua University published an online publication titled "TMED9 and SEC12 Protein Interaction Mediates ERGIC-ERES New Inner Membrane Interaction to Regulate Autophagosome Membrane in Cell Research" on September 24, 2021.

Autophagy is an intracellular degradation pathway mediated by lysosomes, which is very conservative in evolution.

In this study, the researchers found that the ERGIC protein TMED9 plays an important role in regulating the production of autophagosomes through in vitro reconstruction of the lipidation system of autophagosomes, membrane vesicle separation, and mass spectrometry identification

Associate Professor Ge Liang from the School of Life Sciences of Tsinghua University is the corresponding author, and Li Shulin, a doctoral student from the School of Life Sciences in 2019, is the first author of the article
