March 20, reporters learned from Fudan University, the school's School of Life Sciences Hu Wei team, mapped the Japanese schistosomiasis from hugging to sexually mature spawning process dynamic expression spectrum, analysis of the entire development process of gene expression characteristics and molecular events, found that female and male insects in the joint embrace After the development process of functional differentiation is obvious, to the mature stage to achieve perfect functional complementarity, and identified the regulation of the aromatic amino acid dehydrase and control the development of the reproductive system of estrapies G protein couplings, pointed out that schistosomiasis reproductive development regulation may be similar to the insect's hormone regulation mode. The results of the research were published online
.
is the world's second largest parasitic disease after malaria, with schistosomiasis endemic in 76 countries and regions. Insect eggs are the main cause of disease and transmission. Understanding and revealing the molecular mechanism of mature spawning in the reproductive system of schistosomiasis can not only understand the sexual reproductive development of schistosomiasis from the molecular level, but also provide molecular information for the development of anti-schistosomiasis vaccine and drug targets.
Hu Wei's team obtained the gene expression spectrum of Japanese schistosomiasis females and males at different points in their sexual maturation process through RNA sequencing techniques, and showed 4,561 new transcripts of schistosomiasis. Analysis of the dynamic expression spectrum found that the female and male insects of the Japanese schistosomiasis were very similar to the early gene expression spectrum of the joint embrace before hugging, and then the differences were increasing;
, more than three-fourths of the female's expression genes were reduced between the 4th and 6th days after hugging. The analysis showed that the function of males and females in the late stages of maturity to achieve a perfect complement, suddenly developed into a closely dependent "spawning symbone", that is, females become spawning machines, male insects try to make themselves more "strong" to provide shelter for female eggs. Gene expression pattern analysis also shows that the gene expression spectrum change pattern, which is rich in sexual maturation process, suggests that it has a complex regulatory mechanism.
