World Agrochemical Network Chinese reports: Formis and Micropep Technologies (Micropep), a global leader in micropeptide technology, recently announced a strategic collaboration to develop biological solutions to control destructive resistant weeds
    that can reduce crop yields.

Based on short protein molecules naturally produced by plant cells, this collaboration will accelerate the continued development of
    natural weed control products.
Under a multi-year exclusive agreement, the partnership will focus on developing new solutions to control major resistant weeds
    in corn and soybeans.
The two companies will leverage Micropep's technology and combine their respective R&D capabilities to accelerate and improve the success rate
    of identifying innovative biocides.

"We are excited to partner with Micropep to develop novel micropeptide technology to address weed resistance," said Dr.
Kathleen Shelton, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Formics, "The new model of action biomolecules in agriculture represent an exciting new frontier that is completely new
    compared to current grower solutions.
" The agreement demonstrates our continued commitment to diversify Formics' world-class R&D pipeline to include a broader portfolio
of biologics in combination with synthetic medicines.

In 2021, the global herbicide market exceeded US$26 billion (about 181.
3 billion RMB), mainly composed of
    synthetic herbicides.
Bio-herbicides have huge market potential to suppress weeds while minimizing environmental impact
    .
The collaboration has driven the development of Micropep's micropeptide product line, which has proven effective
against resistant weeds and pathogens that threaten major crops worldwide.
To address agriculture's most pressing challenges, Formic is investing in new models of action and continuing to build broad partnerships to accelerate crop protection innovation
    .

"Micropep is building the next generation of natural solutions to address global challenges across multiple markets, with agriculture being a key area
    .
Climate change is already affecting the way farmers produce food, and new sustainable solutions are urgently needed to protect their crops," said Thomas Laurent, Founder and CEO of Micropep.

Combining our proprietary AI micropeptide discovery platform with Formic's strong scientific and commercial capabilities, we seek to develop a selective natural herbicide to effectively control key resistant weeds
