In the printing process, there are many factors that cause the color difference of the spot color ink, and these factors will be discussed separately below
01 The effect of paper on color
The influence of paper on the color of the ink layer is mainly reflected in three aspects
1) Paper whiteness: Papers with different whiteness have different effects on the color of the printed ink layer.
2) Absorption: When the same ink is printed on paper with different absorption under the same conditions, it will have different printing gloss
3) Gloss and smoothness: The gloss of printed matter depends on the gloss and smoothness of the paper
02 The effect of surface treatment on color
The surface treatment methods of packaging products mainly include laminating and glazing
■ Quick-drying bright offset printing ink: It has excellent fixing speed, can dry quickly on the paper during the printing process, and does not crust on the printing machine
■ High-gloss offset printing inks: Relatively fast-drying bright offset printing inks have higher gloss and more vivid colors.
■ High wear-resistant offset printing ink: Under the premise of ensuring the concentration and gloss of the ink, it speeds up the dryness of the ink, making the printed product have higher wear resistance, which is 30% higher than that of the traditional wear-resistant ink
03 The effect of lightening agent on color
Lightening agent is a kind of ointment-like colorless and transparent substance, which mainly plays the role of diluting color in spot color printing
04 The influence of the difference in dry retreat density
In the printed product just printed, the ink is still in the wet state, and there is a density difference between the ink and the dry state
.
The phenomenon that the wet color density is greater than the dry color density is called the dry de-density phenomenon
.
This is because the ink layer just printed has a certain level of leveling, so the surface reflection is mainly mirror reflection, which looks bright in color and good gloss
.
When the ink layer is in a dry state, the surface reflection is dominated by diffuse reflection, and the color is naturally duller than when it is just printed
.
05 The impact of system differences
The process of making color cards with the ink distributing instrument and the ink spreading instrument is a "dry printing" process, without water participation, and printing is a "wet printing" process, and a dampening fluid is involved in the printing process, so the ink must be oily in offset printing.
Water-in-water emulsification, the emulsified ink changes the distribution of pigment particles in the ink layer, which will inevitably produce color difference, and the printed product will appear dark and not bright
.
In addition, the stability of the ink used in the deployment of spot colors, the thickness of the ink layer, the accuracy of the weighing ink, the difference between the old and new ink supply areas of the printing machine, the speed of the printing machine, and the amount of water during printing will also have different effects on the color difference.
