At this stage , it is generally believed that mixed hepatocellular-cholangiocarcinoma (cHCC-CC) originates from hepatoblasts expressing both bile ducts and hepatocytes , accounting for 0.
Although cHCC -CC is very rare, it has received increasing clinical and pathological attention due to its unique biological, histopathological, and clinical features .
In current clinical practice, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) have been widely used for the detection and characterization of liver tumors
Radiomics can provide important information throughout the underlying intratumoral heterogeneity and cancer phenotype by extracting a large number of quantitative features from radiographic images
Recently, a study published in the European Radiology journal developed a radiomic nomogram for preoperative differentiation of cHCC-CC and IMCC based on dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) MR images for optimal preoperative treatment planning.
A total of 151 patients in the training cohort (45 cHCC -CC and 106 IMCC) and 65 patients in the validation cohort (19 cHCC-CC and 46 IMCC) were included in this study
A total of 11 radiomic signatures were selected for the development of radiomic signatures in this study
In conclusion, this study proposes a radiomic nomogram incorporating radiomic features and clinical factors as a noninvasive imaging tool for preoperative differentiation of cHCC-CC and IMCC .
