The identification of bone metastases of prostate cancer is of great significance to the selection of appropriate treatment methods.
Bone metastasis of prostate cancer usually occurs first in the pelvis, and then rises and develops in the axial bones and lymph nodes.
Recently, a study published in the journal European Radiology evaluated the incidence and distribution of bone metastases in untreated prostate cancer patients using whole-body MRI for metastatic examination, and evaluated the results according to current guidelines.
This study is a single-institution retrospective study that included all untreated prostate cancer patients from 2016 to 2017, and each patient underwent a full-body MRI examination.
This study included 161 newly diagnosed prostate cancer patients, of which 36 (22%) were at moderate risk and 125 (78%) were at high risk.
