The results showed that compared with placebo, patients in the D16 group had a significant reduction in pain during the maximum active knee flexion on the third postoperative day [-1.

In summary, administering 16 mg of dexamethasone before total knee arthroplasty can reduce postoperative pain, reduce opioid consumption, increase quadriceps strength, improve mobilization ability, and improve the overall quality of postoperative recovery
