Application of emulsifier in adhesive emulsion polymerization
In the adhesive emulsion polymerization, the emulsifier plays the role of emulsifying, dispersing and solubilizing monomers.
The amount of emulsifier is small and the effect is significant, which can improve production efficiency and reduce energy consumption; it can also improve the quality of the adhesive and reduce the problems of excessive viscosity that may occur during the production process.
In recent years, the awareness of environmental protection and related policies have been strengthened.
In the adhesive industry, the effective use of emulsifiers is one of the important indicators to measure the preparation technology.
Application of different types of emulsifiers
1.
Application of anionic emulsifier:
Anionic emulsifiers have a lower critical micelle concentration (CMC) than nonionic emulsifiers.
The emulsion particles produced are small, the mechanical stability of the emulsion is good, and gelation is rarely generated during the polymerization process.
2.
Non-ionic emulsifier:
Non-ionic emulsifiers have long-chain hydrophobic alkyl chains and hydrophilic carboxyl groups or ether bonds in their molecular structure.
