It is understood that the new plant, with a total investment of US$69 million, is located in Dow's integrated silicone production base in Zhangjiagang and is expected to produce 12,000 tons of silicone resin per year after production, which will significantly increase dow's global production capacity of high value-added silicone resins to meet the rising demand for specialty silicone products in related industries and emerging markets around the world.
At the same time, the plant will be Dow's first overseas silicone resin plant outside the U.S. and Dow's second high value-added silicone resin production base in the world, helping to extend the silicone industry chain of Dow's Zhangjiagang integrated production base and laying the foundation for the introduction of more high value-added silicone downstream product lines.Lin Yulin, president of
Dow Greater China, said the decision to invest in the new plant was a concrete act by Dow to live up to its commitment to Chinese customers and partners, and was another testament to Dow's determination to continue to work deep and invest in China.
