According to Thai media reports, the demand for Thai durian in the Chinese market remains strong, after rumors that the epidemic led to a decline in orders

Thanes Sangthaworn, general manager of Morakot Central Fruit Market in Chumphon, Thailand, said durian prices and orders have not fallen, with Chinese importers ordering more fruit to replenish stocks ahead of the Lunar New Year, and fruit consumption is expected to soar
during the Spring Festival.

Thanes said that due to strong demand, the price of durian in Thailand rose
across the board from the previous week.
AB and ABC grade golden pillow durians are now priced at THB160/kg (32 yuan/kg) and 140 THB/kg (28 RMB/kg) respectively, up from 140 THB/kg and 120 THB/kg
last week.
The price of C-grade gold-pillow durian is now 110 baht/kg (22 yuan/kg), which is also a sharp increase
from 100 baht/kg last week.

Thailand's Ministry of Commerce estimates that total durian production in southern Thailand will reach 600,000 tonnes this year, of which 80% has been exported
