14th National Conference on Nutritional Sciences and the 11th Asia-Pacific Conference on Clinical Nutrition, and the 2nd Global Conference of Chinese Nutrition Scientists were held at the Nanjing International Expo Center from September 20-22, 2019. The conference was strongly supported by the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Nutrition Society, attracted the active participation of many experts from nutrition societies across the Taiwan Straits, promoted in-depth exchanges in nutrition science across the Taiwan Straits, and reached a number of cooperation consensuses.

In order to further promote cross-strait and Hong Kong-Macau collaborative innovation, promote the participation of young scientists in guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Bay Area, the Yangtze River Economic Belt development, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei collaborative development and "Belt and Road" construction, promote talent exchanges and outstanding scientific research achievements, just in time for the Chinese Association of Science and Technology held the "cross-strait and Hong Kong and Macao young nutrition scientists academic activities month" at the same time, with the support of the Ministry of Exchange of the Chinese Association of Science and Technology, the conference was specially set up during the cross-strait hong Kong and Macao youth nutrition scientists academic forum. The forum focuses on nutrition innovation and practice, and exchanges on the latest research, innovations and practices in a variety of nutrition areas, including clinical nutrition, public nutrition, genomics, nutritional epidemiology, and nutrition and artificial intelligence. Nearly 150 young scientists attended the conference, including more than 50 young scientists from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and exchanged 23 academic reports. The Forum further promoted cooperation and exchanges between young nutrition scientists from both sides of the Taiwan Strait and Hong Kong and Macao, and helped to promote the establishment of long-term youth academic exchange projects.
