After identifying the urgent need for early diagnosis and improving the quality and consistency of care, the Sjögren Foundation developed clinical practice guidelines for the diagnosis, management, and treatment of Sjögren's pulmonary manifestations
.
Pulmonary disease is a potentially serious but underdiagnosed complication of Sjogren’s syndrome.

The Sjögren Foundation established the clinical practice guidelines for Sjögren's lung manifestations after identifying the urgent need for early diagnosis and improving the quality and consistency of care
Study design and methodology: According to the guidelines of the American Academy of Rheumatology, strict and transparent methods were followed
.
The Pulmonary Subject Review Group (TRG) developed clinical questions in PICO (patients, interventions, comparisons, results) format and selected literature search parameters
Research design and methods:
Results: A literature search revealed 1,192 articles, 150 of which met the considerations for the development of the guideline
.
Out of the 85 PICO questions originally raised by TRG, 52 recommendations were generated
Results: These recommendations covered the subject of evaluating Sjögren's lung performance, as well as evaluating, managing, and treating upper and lower respiratory diseases, interstitial lung diseases, and lymphoproliferative diseases
In summary, Sjögren-induced lung involvement is common and often involves upper and lower respiratory tract diseases, parenchymal or interstitial lung diseases, and related lymphoproliferative diseases
.
A common theme of all these recommendations, recognized by TRG, is the need for a multidisciplinary approach to treat Sjögren patients with suspected or confirmed pulmonary complications, including rheumatologists, primary care physicians, pulmonologists, and pathologists , Radiologists and, when appropriate, oncologists

Sjögren's clinical practice guidelines for lung manifestations can improve the uniformity of early identification, evaluation, and care for primary care physicians, rheumatologists, and pulmonologists
