The price of wheat in Africa has risen by 60% due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and maize and other grains will also be affected, the head of the African Development Bank, Adesina, said on Tuesda.
The Russian-Ukrainian conflict may cause a global food crisis, especially for Africa, as African food is mainly imported from Russia and Ukrain.
Adesina also revealed that the African Development Bank has formulated an emergency food plan for Africa with a budget of 5 billion US dollars to avoid a food crisis on the African continent and reduce the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict on Afric.
