Introduction: Abstract: In this paper, the oestrus behavior of Boer goat and Guanzhong dairy goat were compared and observed The results showed that the oestrus behavior of Boer goat was not obvious in Guanzhong dairy goat in the three stages of oestrus, i.e early stage and late stage, especially in the peak stage The duration of oestrus was 26.00 ± 8.98hr, which was shorter than that of Guanzhong dairy goat (40.93 ± 8.39hr) (P < 0.0.1) It is the main method to accurately identify the oestrus of Boer goat to test the oestrus of ram combined with vaginal examination It is also suggested that the reproductive performance should be considered when breed, introduce or utilize Boer goat Keywords: Boer goat; Guanzhong dairy goat; oestrus; ethology; oestrus duration the study on estrus behavior of Boer goat compare to Guanzhong dairy goat Zhao Yong Ju, Wang Hui Ping Animal Science College, South agricultural university Beibei, Chongqing, 400716 Abstracts: at shed raising conditions, the estrous behavior of Boer goat compare to Guanzhong dairy goat were determined in this study。 The results showed that the estrous behavior of Boer goat was no distinctness compare to Guanzhong dairy goat The duration of Estrous of Boer goat and Guanzhong dairy goat were 26.00±8.98hr and 40.93±8.39hr respectively(P<0.0.1)。 The reproductive performance should be paid attention to at breeding, introducing and utilizing Boer goat Keywords:Boer goat; Guanzhong dairy goat; estrous; behavior; Duration of estrous Boer goat has become one of the world-famous mutton sheep breeds because of its fast growth, high meat yield and high meat quality [1] However, the biggest defect of Boer goat is its poor reproductive performance According to some reports, Boer goats have late sexual maturity, strong oestrus season and no obvious performance There are few literatures on the reproductive performance of Boer goat [2] The observation of Boer goat's oestrus behavior will lay a foundation for further understanding the breed and making full use of it Materials and methods 1.1 the experiment was carried out in Yangchang base of Yongrong Biotechnology Co., Ltd, Rongchang County, Chongqing from July to October, 2003 1.2 experimental sheep grouping and feeding management experimental sheep were introduced from Boer goat farm in Shaanxi Province, including 5 Boer goats and 11 Guanzhong Milk Goats The whole house feeding, sheep ear number, insect repellent, four prevention vaccine immunity The concentrate is fed in three times, and the grass is free to eat 1.3 the observation items and methods were used to determine whether the goat was estrous, twice a day, at 8:00 and 18:00 respectively 24 hr continuous observation method was used to observe oestrus behavior, and the changes of vagina and cervix were examined by open cupper 2 results compared with the analysis 2.1 oestrus behavior according to oestrus behavior, the oestrus period of ewes is generally divided into three stages, the initial stage, the peak stage and the final stage [3] The oestrus Behavior Comparison of Boer goat and Guanzhong dairy goat in each stage is shown in Table 1 It can be seen from table 1 that Boer goats seldom sing at the peak of oestrus and their oestrus behavior is not obvious, which is quite different from that of Guanzhong dairy goats 2.2 the duration of oestrus was 26.00 ± 8.98h (12-48h) in Boer goat and 40.93 ± 8.39hr (24-60h) in Guanzhong dairy goat (P < 0.0.1) 3 Discussion and suggestion 3.1 the oestrus behavior of Boer goat is not obvious as that of Guanzhong dairy goat It was found that Boer goats did not cry loudly when they were in estrus, and the swelling of vulva was not obvious, and the secretion of mucus was less While Guanzhong dairy goats are highly excited in oestrus, wagging their tails, singing loudly, eating down, chasing rams, congestion and swelling of vulva and vagina, with a lot of mucus At the same time, Boer goat's oestrus lasts for a short time When the male and the female are raised separately, it is easy to miss the match and cause economic loss 3.2 it is a method to accurately identify the oestrus of Boer goat by testing the oestrus and vaginal examination It is very important to identify the oestrus of goats in time and improve the conception rate The estrus identification of ewes mainly includes external observation, vaginal examination and ram test In our country, because goats are raised in thousands of households in a small scale, the main method of traditional identification of oestrus is external observation But because the oestrus behavior of Boer goat is not obvious, this method can not meet the needs Accurate identification of Boer goat oestrus, on the one hand, requires the identification of oestrus people have rich experience, on the other hand, the use of ram test combined with vaginal examination 3.3 when breeding, introducing or using Boer goat breeds, consideration should be given to reproductive performance Boer goats grow fast and have good meat quality After they were introduced into China, their price remained high for a time In addition, some departments and places blindly introduced and utilized them, which brought hidden dangers to the protection of local breeds and even the development of goat industry Therefore, when breeding, introducing or using Boer goat, we should fully evaluate its production performance and give consideration to its reproduction performance References: 1 Zhao Yongju crossbreeding effect of Boer Goat at home and abroad [J] cross other sheep, do not accept the ram &The vaginal mucosa is pale and the cervix is closed &Excited and restless, loss of appetite, reduced time to eat, part of the mutton calls close to the ram, but do not accept the ram lying on the cross &Some sheep vulva vagina intermittent thin liquid, vagina pale, cervix part for bright red &Estrus: normal appetite, no chirping, no excitement, frequent urination, wagging tail when some see rams, active approach to rams, and accept lying on the cross &The vulva is congested and swollen, from pale to bright red, and the labia mucosa is red and swollen; the vagina discharges mucus intermittently, and the vagina and cervix are relaxed and open &They are restless in singing and active in excitement; loss of appetite, significant reduction in ruminating and feeding time; frequent urination and wagging of tail from time to time; some sexual behaviors such as mutual climbing and snoring between ewes; receiving touch and pressing and other sheep's climbing, showing standing still and active approach to male sheep &The vulva is congested and swollen, turning from pale to bright red, and the labia mucosa is red and swollen; the vagina intermittently discharges the clear mucus of eggs, some of which are turbid and sticky; the vagina and cervix are loose and open &Metastrous: not excited, not willing to cross, not crossing other sheep &The swelling of vulva subsided, and some sheep had viscous liquid discharged from the vagina &Spirit is not excited, do not accept to climb across, do not climb across other sheep &The swelling of vulva gradually subsided, and viscous liquid was discharged from the vagina.
