02 Coating construction conditions and requirements

For the construction of internal and external wall latex paint, wood paint, and floor paint, in order to avoid poor film formation and cracking, the construction should be stopped when the following situations occur:

Regarding the construction of exterior wall coatings, due to construction period requirements, some projects still need to be constructed when the temperature is lower than 5°C after the winter.

1 Primary inspection and treatment

Grassroots treatment is the foundation of the painting project.

Remove dust, oil and loose objects on the surface of the base layer; reduce or eliminate surface defects; improve the physical or chemical properties of the surface of the base layer

2 Putty construction

For the construction of the coating system, the substrate should be dry and the wall surface temperature should be ensured before the construction in winter

When the daytime temperature is lower than 5℃, try to work on the wall with direct sunlight.

3 Polish the putty and judge the dryness

The putty must be completely dried before polishing, so that the putty is completely dried and the non-stick sandpaper is polished and the surface smoothness is controlled

If the putty does not dry or is frozen, the putty will stick to the sandpaper when sanding, and the surface will not be easy to smooth

4 Paint construction

Coating construction: Make sure that the substrate is completely dry before painting.
The construction temperature of water-based coatings should be controlled above 5℃.
During the drying and filming process, when the temperature is below zero, the emulsion will freeze and lose its adhesion and film-forming functions.
, To ensure that the lowest temperature during the film-forming and drying process cannot be lower than 0°C

5 Storage of paint

In the winter paint construction, the paint stored on site should be placed in the indoor classification and storage, and ensure that the indoor temperature is above 0℃.
When the temperature is below 0℃, heating or electric heating must be used to increase the indoor temperature

Open flames are strictly prohibited to increase the indoor temperature .

Paint that has not been used up during construction should be placed indoors, and products that have been frozen cannot be used again

6 Paint film maintenance and finished product protection

It takes 7 days for the paint film to dry and achieve the best performance on the surface of the object at a standard temperature of 25℃.
When the temperature of the coating construction environment is generally low in winter, the time for the paint film to dry and achieve the best performance should be relatively extended.
During this period, it is necessary to minimize the pollution and bumps on the surface of the paint film, so as to prevent the repair caused by pollution and bumps from affecting the overall effect
