Chinese researchers find the gene "hub" that regulates flowering |
BEIJING, Kunming, March 9 (Reporter Hu voyage) 9 reporter from China Ke Xueyuan Kunming Institute of Botany was informed that new progress on the Regulation of flowering time of the plant is located.
Academy of Sciences
Flowering time is a very important trait in the life history of plants.
Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are an important family of plants in response to stresses, and they are involved in the response to various environmental stresses such as drought, high temperature, and stress.
Academy of Sciences
The results of the study found that under normal growth conditions, Arabidopsis HSP101 affects the expression of genes in multiple flowering time regulatory pathways, and promotes flowering by inhibiting the expression of FLC and SVP genes.
The researchers said that the role of HSP101 in the regulation of adversity stress and flowering time suggests that HSP101 may be a common hub for plants to balance development and stress response.
Related research results were published in the mainstream botany journal Plant Physiology under the title "Heat Shock Protein 101 (HSP101) Promotes Flowering under Nonstress Conditions".
