The meeting was chaired by Liu Sha, Secretary General of the Pig Industry Branch of the China Meat Association.

 

Chen Wei, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of China Meat Association, delivered a speech on the purpose, direction and goal of standard setting.
He pointed out that standard formulation must achieve three objectives, three directions, and three goals.
The three objectives are: First, open the country to implement standards; second, open industry boundaries to implement standards; third, highlight Chinese characteristics.
The three directions are: first, product quality differentiation; second, enterprise differentiation; third, the qualifications of personnel in key positions.
The three goals are: one is the goal of promoting excellence; the second is to solve the problem of market confusion; the third is the impact of foreign products on local products.

 

Gao Shengpu, deputy director of the Standards Department of the Slaughter Technology Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, stated at the kick-off meeting that the standards of the industry associations should be carried out around the following five aspects: 1.
The establishment of the group standard must have characteristics.
2.
The formation of the group standard must be a system.
3.
The relevant technology should be mature.
Fourth, the requirements for writing specifications cannot be low.
5.
The applicability of group standards should be strong.

 

　　At the kick-off meeting, the leaders of the leading enterprises of the relevant standards gave a brief explanation on the background and content of the standard formulation.
Participants held a rigorous and pragmatic attitude to discuss the names, frameworks, scope of application, and the appropriateness of the indicators in the standards and other related issues.
After the meeting, the China Meat Association will revise the first draft of the standard based on the discussion opinions.
