Annonaceae is the largest division of the early differentiated quilt plant Magnoliales, spread across tropical and subtropical regions, and is one of the main branches of the tropical flora, with about 2,400 species of 107 species worldwide. Trivalvaria,
, is a small genus in the section, and the World Panyuki Shimiman database (AnnonBase) contains only six species, mainly in the Central and South Korean Peninsula and Southeast Asia.
the main identification feature of this genus is the flower sequence away from the plant, the flower stalks are very short (less than 1cm), each heart leather device 1 seed seed, fruit period of only 1 seed per fraction.
so far, Myanmar has recorded only two species of T. macrophylla and T. costata.
the Center for Southeast Asian Biodiversity Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has collected more than 10 species of island wood plants in different flower ingeperiods since the China-Myanmar Joint Scientific Examination was conducted in the grape region of northern Myanmar in 2014, and identified two of them as new species of island wood genus through detailed literature and model specimen studies.
one of the petals is similar in shape and size to the island wood, with leaves similar to T. macrophylla, but the petals are significantly different from their similar species, and therefore named t. Rubra Y.H. Tan, S.S. Zhouandb. Yang.
another leaf similar to T. argentea, but the inner and outer wheel petals are nearly large, 6 to 10 mm long and 3 to 5 mm wide, while T. argentea petals are 2 x 3mm in size.
thanks to the Southeast Asian Center's project's funding of plant diversity research in Myanmar, researchers named the species taary-leaf island wood (T. casseabriae Y.H. Tan, S.S. Zhou and B. Yang) after the Full Name of the Southeast Asian Center.
the discovery of the two new species, enriched the record of island plants in Myanmar, I believe that with the Sino-Myanmar joint scientific examination and cooperative research in-depth, there will be more discoveries, increased understanding of the diversity of plants in Myanmar.
research published in PhytoKeys 94 th.
the study was funded by the Southeast Asian Center.
