March 13, 2020, Health Canada released NOM/ADM-0143 to revise the list of allowed pigments to approve the use of lycopene extract in certain non-carbonated sweet water-based beverages and sports drinks that add vitamins and mineral nutrients. It is understood that lycopene extracted from tomatoes in Canada has been allowed to be used as a food colorant for a variety of foods, including certain beverages This amendment will take effect on 12 March 2022 0
