    On August 27, "Invest in Cameroon" reported that in 2020, Cameroon imported a total of 860,000 tons of wheat , an increase of 30,000 tons over the same period last year
    .
    Among them, 300,000 tons were imported from Russia, 144,000 tons from Canada, 117,000 tons from France, and 54,000 tons from the United States
    .
    According to data released by the Ministry of Commerce of Cameroon, Cameroon is expected to import 900,000 tons of wheat in 2021

    Since the collapse of the Cameroon National Wheat Company (SODEBLE) in 1980, Cameroon’s domestic wheat consumption has been heavily dependent on imports
    .
    International distributors such as the French CEREALIS Group provide Cameroon with a large amount of imported wheat every year
    .
    In order to reduce imports, the Cameroonian government is cooperating with the Agricultural Research and Development Institute (IRAD) to test wheat varieties on the country's land
    .
    At present, experimental farms with a yield of 4 tons per hectare have been developed in the Adamawa Region and the Northwest Region
