According to the Phnom Penh Post , Cambodia 's mango exports to China have been severely hampered by the double blow of the epidemic and price competition in Vietnam .

Hun Lak, head of Tropicam Fruit and Vegetable Company, said in an interview that due to China's strengthening of epidemic prevention and control, a large number of fruits from Cambodia and other places were trapped at the port, triggering a sharp drop in prices
    .
The closure of the Sino-Vietnamese port has also prevented Cambodian mangoes from being sold to China through Vietnam.
In addition, Vietnamese mangoes are in season and the market price competition is fierce.
These problems have led to a decline in Cambodian mango orders
    .

From a long-term perspective, Lak recommends improving the post-harvest processing of mangoes, improving disinfection, packaging and hot water treatment conditions in packaging plants to achieve higher export standards as much as possible
    .
At the same time, Lak called for further processing of mangoes and export in the form of dried mangoes and mango pulp
    .

Angkor Green, a fellow fruit exporter, is under similar pressure, with mango sales so far down 70 percent from last year
    .
Vann Rithy, head of the company's export department, said that the company had given up exporting mangoes to China since October last year, including through Vietnam
    .
Righy attributed the reason to the closure of ports due to the epidemic, and the company also gave up trying to ship by sea due to a shortage of containers
    .

On March 22, Ngin Chhay, director of the General Administration of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of the Cambodian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, mentioned in an export-related discussion that the overlapping seasons of Cambodian mangoes and neighboring countries may have an adverse impact on the price of fresh mangoes.
He called on growers and enterprises.
    Increase off-season mango production
    .
At the same time, Chhay said that the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has cooperated with local companies to attract investment and invested in the construction of more post-harvest processing facilities to meet the demand during the mango harvest
    .

According to a report released by the Cambodian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Cambodia exported a total of 265,229.
