According to data from the Vietnam Association of Aquatic Products Exporters and Producers (VASEP), Vietnam's seafood export revenue in the first three quarters of this year was US$8.
5 billion, a year-on-year increase of 38%, and it is expected that by the end of November, export earnings can reach US$10 billion
.

Monthly export earnings in September were $850 million, up 36% year-on-year, but this was the first time in seven consecutive months that export earnings fell below
$900 million.
Among all seafood exports, catfish exports in September amounted to US$161 million, up 97%
year-on-year.

In September, China was the largest buyer of Vietnamese seafood, with exports worth US$153 million, up 97% from the same period in 2021, exports to the EU and South Korea increased by 31% and 19% year-on-year, respectively, while exports to the United States fell 11% to US$140 million
.

VASEP said that China is still the target market for Vietnamese seafood processors, especially in the context of transportation costs and congestion are still major issues in global trade, processors are taking advantage of China's growing market demand, as well as its advantageous geographical location, Vietnam's seafood export earnings will meet the targets
set by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
