British private equity fund Ocean 14 Capital has invested €10 million ($9.
7 million) in Brazilian tilapia producer Tilabras to significantly expand aquaculture production
.

Ocean 14 is focused on investing in sustainable marine solutions and technologies, and its investment in Tilabras will triple the latter's tilapia production to 25,000 tonnes
per year.
Tilabras' farm, located near the Parana River between the Brazilian states of Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo, recently received a 100,000-tonne tilapia farming license
.

Franciso Saraiva, Investment Director at Ocean 14, said: "We will support the sustainable production of tilapia in Tilabras, which offers a low-impact alternative
to wild-caught whitefish.
This investment is in line with Tilabras' vision to become the world's largest tilapia producer
with the least impact on nature.

Nicolas Landolt, founder and CEO of Tilabras, said: "We look forward to expanding our farming and processing operations, as well as our fingerling production operations
