Brazil's "gazetadopovo" website reported on April 13 that the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) pointed out that the total amount of beef imported from Brazil in mainland China and Hong Kong this year has increased significantly compared with the same period in 2017.
In the first quarter, Brazil's beef exports to mainland China and Hong Kong accounted for only 35.
8% of its total exports, a big gap compared to this year
    .
Experts from the Brazilian Frozen Food Association pointed out that Egypt is still the main destination for Brazilian beef exports.
In March this year alone, Egypt imported 47,842 tons of beef from Brazil, compared with only 15,004 tons in the same period last year
    .
In addition, Chile’s total imports of Brazilian beef, along with Egypt and China, also rose, rising to 23,888 tonnes from 12,592 tonnes in March 2017
    .
The Brazilian Frozen Food Association believes that the increase in sales of Brazilian beef in the international market is enough to compensate for the decline in the domestic beef market
    .
"Since the Brazilian federal police exposed beef quality problems in early 2017, the domestic beef market sales in Brazil have not recovered, and the EU member states and the United States have not as much demand for Brazilian beef as before, but countries such as China, Egypt and Chile have not recovered as much.
The rising demand for Brazilian beef is good news for us
    .
In addition, Russia, once the largest export destination of Brazilian beef, may resume imports of Brazilian beef in the first half of 2018,
” said an expert from the Brazilian Frozen Food Association
