China Nutrition Society's Maternal and Child Nutrition Branch, "Maternal and Child Nutrition Elite Talent Training Course (First Phase)" opened on April 17, 2019 in Yichang City, Hubei Province. The training course is scheduled to last 5 days and will be organized by the Women's and Children's Nutrition Branch of the Chinese Nutrition Society and hosted by the Hubei Nutrition Society and Yichang Nutrition Society. A total of about 100 clinical and research staff from hospitals and universities throughout the country engaged in maternal and child nutrition-related professions participated in this session of the training.
This training course aims to promote the integration of knowledge and technology among maternal and child nutrition-related professionals in different professions and positions, to improve the technical level and capacity to implement the National Nutrition Plan (2017-2030), and to promote better implementation of the "1000 Days of Nutritional Health Action in the Early Life". Participants are required to have a corresponding nutritional basis, familiar with or master the Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents 2016, Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Women and Children 2016, Dietary Nutrients Reference Intake for Chinese Residents 2013, Chinese Food Ingredients List and other professional foundations, and engage in maternal and child nutrition-related work, deputy high and above technical title, or obtained the Chinese Nutrition Society "registered nutritionist" certificate. The course project attracted 250 qualified applicants, from which the first participants were selected through rigorous and impartial screening.
This training includes entrance exams, theoretical lectures, brainstorming discussions, skills guidance, and presentations on basic nutrition theory, dietary guidelines, nutrition and dietary assessment, perinatal nutrition, infant nutrition, breastfeeding and breast nutrition, the status of milk substitute food/infant-assisted foods/special medical use foods, regulations and regulations, and management. The goal is to enable trainees to acquire a comprehensive knowledge and skills in all aspects of maternal and child nutrition on the basis of their professional strengths through training.
