Researchers recently examined the global, regional and national burden of psoriasis through systematic reviews and meta-analysisstudy collected information from medline, Embase, Web of Science, SciELO, Korean Journal database, Russian scientific citation index, WPRIM, Saudi Med Lit, Informit, Ind Med and HERDIN from its inception to October 2019, and used the Bayesian-level model to estimate the global, regional and national prevalence of psoriasis41,164 records were identified and 168 studies met the inclusion criteriaAmong adults, the incidence of psoriasis ranged from 30.3 per 100,000 people in Taiwan to 321.0/100,000 in ItalyThe prevalence of psoriasis in East Asia was 0.14 per cent, compared with 1.99 per cent in AustraliaThe prevalence of psoriasis is also high in Western Europe (1.92%), Central Europe (1.83%), North America (1.50%) and southern Latin America (1.10%)study found that 81 per cent of the world's countries lack epidemiological data on psoriasis, which is more common in adults, high-income countries and population-ageing areas
