Breast implant-related interdessional large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) is a very rare T-cell lymphoma caused by a single environmental stimulus, but its occurrence is on the rise.
in this study, Tjitske and others conducted a comprehensive genetic analysis of a relatively large BIA-ALCL queue (n-29) to identify the genome-wide chromosomal copy number variation (CNA) and mutation map of one subset (n-7).
, the researchers also obtained cNA for mesolytic lymphoma kinase (ALK) negative (-) nodding mesodynalytic large cell lymphoma (ALCL; n=24).
29 cases of BIA-ALCL and ALC-nALCL CNA were found to have detected CNA in 94% of BIA-ALCL, of which 66% of the samples were missing copies in the chromosome 20q13.13 region.
20q13.13 is a feature of BIA-ALCL that differs from other types of ALCL, such as primary skin-type ALCL, full-body APK-plus, and ALK-ALCL.
the CNA-comparison mutation patterns of serum BIA-ALCL and tumor BIA-ALCL confirmed that the lecytolein-6-JAK1-STAT3 pathline was out of order.
although this is common in different types of T-cell lymphoma, the path is significantly more dissonant in BIA-ALCL.
, the loss of the characteristics of chromosome 20 in BIA-ALCL further proves that BIA-ALCL is an independent disease entity.
addition, CNA analysis can be used as a parameter for future diagnostic tests for women with breast implants to distinguish between serum swelling caused by BIA-ALCL or serum swelling caused by other causes, such as infection or trauma.
