On September 23, Asia-Pacific Pharmaceuticals issued an announcement stating that it had recently received the "Drug Supplementary Application Approval Notice" for cefmetazole sodium for injection approved and issued by the National Medical Products Administration.

Cefmetazole sodium is highly stable to β-lactamase, and has the same strong antibacterial activity against β-lactamase-producing and non-β-lactamase-producing sensitive bacteria

In addition, cefmetazole sodium also has a strong antibacterial effect on anaerobic bacteria such as Peptostreptococcus, Bacteroides, Prevotella (except Biloba Prevotella) and other anaerobic bacteria
