Argentine meat exports Business Alliance (ABC) reported that by freezing and cold meat push block shipments, September beef exports totaled 77,000 tons, last month increased by 16%, reduced by 10% compared with the same period in 2020
    .
In its report, it added that in the first nine months of this year, the export volume was 615,000 tons, and the export value was 2.
    014 billion U.
    S.
dollars, a decrease of 5% compared with the same period in 2020, but the export value was similar
    .
"This is due to price increases in major destinations such as China and the European Union and the strong impact of tariff quotas," ABC President Mario Lavitino explained
    .
In September, the tariff quotas imposed on the European Union had an impact on frozen meat
    .
Similarly, for China, the shipment of frozen meat to Israel has increased, reaching one of the highest levels in recent years
    .
After the export volume stabilized at 51,000 tons in June and July, it continued to rise in the following months, reaching the second highest in 2021 in September, but lower than the average level in the second half of last year
    .
The total in September was US$ 310 million, an increase of 25% from 12 months ago
    .
China continues to lead beef exports, although its share has fallen sharply compared to before: from 80% in May before the restriction to 64% in September
    .
After reaching a peak of 52,000 tons in May, including a record 13,500 tons of frozen beef with bones, exports to China fell to 28,000 tons and 25,000 tons in June and July respectively, stabilizing at 33-36 thousand.
    Tons
    .
In terms of export volume, the rising trend of the average value has eased the impact of the decline in export volume: in August, the average export price of boneless beef to China was US$5,076 per ton.
In September, it rose again to US$5,368, a year-on-year increase of 48%, only compared to 2019.
The peak at the end of the year was $300 lower
    .
However, this price increase has not made up for the impact of export volume restrictions: compared with the monthly average of the first five months of this year, a cumulative decrease of $178 million in the past three months
    .
Lavitino emphasized that "325,000 tons of frozen meat products were shipped to China in the first nine months of this year, equivalent to nearly 450,000 tons of beef, accounting for three-quarters of Argentina's total beef exports
    .
"   "Before the promulgation of Decree No.
408/2021, shipments to this destination had already made up for the decline in recent months, so total exports were similar to the same period in 2020," he added
