    Argentina will repeal article
    299/07 as of 14 December.

Since 14 December, in order to simplify procedures and strengthen the control and control regime, the Deputy Minister of Fisheries has implemented Regulation No.
1/22, and new measures on the Argentine squid fishing fleet will enter into force
    .
Through the remote program platform, companies must provide data on unloading, ground handling and Argentine crew to verify the owner's commitments
    .

The new regulations modify the measures taken
to verify compliance with the commitments made by shipowners in their fishing projects for the exploitation of squid species.

On the one hand, no less than 48 hours before the end of the tide, the purpose of its capture is to be processed on land, and the shipowner must request the preparation of a "verification certificate for shipment to the processing plant"
through the Remote Procedure Platform (TAD).

"Agencies that do not appear in the minutes of the meeting or do not specify that they will be stored and/or processed will not be considered included in the fulfillment of commitments to unload and handle on land," the deputy minister revealed
    through a statement.

Similarly, under the new regulations, companies that register land processing plants in their fisheries projects and end up unable to continue registering at the site must request a change from the National Fisheries Coordination and Control Agency through (TAD), which must comply with all regulatory requirements
    .
The enforcement authority shall, within a period not exceeding ten days, notify
the approval or rejection of the application.

Likewise, the licensed company must give 72 hours notice in advance of the date, schedule and institution of each processing that will be carried out
    .

Article 10 of the new regulations stipulates that if a crew member of Argentine nationality must disembark, the shipowner must immediately notify the National Office through the TAR, accompanied by an information statement
made before the Argentine Naval Department.
Shipowners must give priority to cargo
    when replacing Argentine crew.

Lieberman acknowledged that the measures taken were taken to protect and promote Argentina's work
    .
"In 2020, we decided to eliminate the calculation of squid sales that are not processed to the domestic market, and licensees must effectively comply with the value added of origin to meet their commitments
    .

Last year, he said, "we determined that the owner's company that renews its license to catch Argentine squid must complete at least 20 percent processing on land based on the total annual catch," replacing a rule
    established fifteen years ago.

In this sense, the Deputy Minister of Fisheries said: "We understand that it is necessary to generate this legal innovation
due to the technological advances that we implement in management, such as specific TADs and actions taken around the control and control of the matter.

Similarly, according to the Director of the National Fisheries Coordination and Control Department, "squid fisheries, due to their quantity, export capacity and international value, have been consolidated over time and have become one of
the most important fisheries in the country.
As of 2021, we have implemented controls and controls in our processing plants to verify the effective fulfillment
    of commitments undertaken by administrators.

Resolution SAGyP 149/2021 established the Special Fisheries Monitoring Unit, reporting
to the Control and Supervision Directorate.
They are responsible for the technical and administrative monitoring
of unloading, processing and the fulfilment of commitments by Argentine crews.

When these new measures became known and the creation of new control units was highlighted, the degree of compliance with the commitment of shipowning companies to reprocess part of the catch on land harvested in 2021 and the summary and sanctions for violators of the 2020 harvest remained a mystery
