Objective: Mechanical overload and chondrocyte senescence play important roles in the development of osteoarthritis (OA) .

Objective: Mechanical overload and chondrocyte senescence play important roles in the development of osteoarthritis (OA) .

Methods: The expression of F-box and WD repeat domain 7 (FBXW7) ubiquitin ligase and chondrocyte senescence were detectedin vitro, in experimental OA mouse and human OA cartilage .

Results: Mechanical overload accelerated the aging of cultured chondrocytes and mouse articular cartilage

Conclusions: FBXW7 is a key factor in the association of mechanical overload with chondrocyte senescence and cartilage aging in OA pathology .
