Architectural coatings: insulation instead of fungicides?

In fraunhofer's Institute of Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA's Fraunhofer Institute of Technology and Automation), the Coatings Systems and Coatings Technology Department is currently preparing a research project on building coatings and corresponding adhesive dispersion insulation. Initial tests using commercially available white interior wall coatings and corresponding styrene-acrylic co-polyphur dispersions (using autoculsive sterilizers, or so-called sterilizers) showed surprisingly positive results. However, the corresponding tests using the microwave oven (125 degrees C, 300 W, 15 minutes) were unsuccessful;

These preliminary tests have shown that there is hope for latex paint and corresponding adhesive insulation: at least for small containers, preservatives in the tank can be replaced in the future.
Compared to unprocessed similar products, further research will now focus on the limits of thermal stability depending on the chemical composition, the biological durability of heat-preserved, bio-perishable latex paints, and the application characteristics of heat-preserved materials. Fraunhofer IPA is preparing a corresponding partnership and is still looking for a partner.
