In Alzheimer's disease, neurons in the brain die
A research team led by DZNE scientist Professor Michael Wagner, DZNE and the psychologist of the Advanced Memory Clinic Bonn University Hospital, have now found in a study that the Mediterranean-like diet pattern is relatively high in intake of vegetables, beans, and beans.
A national study
A total of 512 subjects with an average age of about 70 participated in the study
"People have
Extensive test series
The scientists then studied brain atrophy: They scanned the brain with a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner to determine brain volume
Researchers led by Michael Wagner found that those who ate an unhealthy diet had higher pathological levels of these biomarkers in the cerebrospinal fluid than those who regularly ate a Mediterranean diet
Plan to continue nutrition research
"The Mediterranean diet may protect the brain from protein deposition and brain atrophy, which can lead to memory loss and dementia
