The Tea Tree Pest Control Innovation Team of Tea Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences has made progress in the study of degradation metabolism and risk assessment of the new chiral pesticide fluthiazole in tea and animals, and the relevant research results have been published
in the journals ACS Agricultural Science & Technology and Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.

Fluorothiazolpidone Oxathiapiprolin is a chiral structure fungicide that plays a role by inhibiting the metabolism of oxysterol-binding proteins (OSBP) on cholesterol-like compounds, and is widely used in agricultural production, but its residues in agricultural products and the environment may pose a threat
    to human and animal health.

The team realized the separation of the fluorothiazole pyrrhedrone enantiomer under the conditions of reversed-phase liquid chromatography for the first time at home and abroad, established the analysis method of enantiomerone residue in the sample matrix of tea and other agricultural products, and further studied the degradation change and risk assessment of the enantiomer of fluthiazolpidone in tea plant growth, black tea and green tea processing, brewing, and the results showed that the residual amount of fluthiazolylpyrrhedrone ingested in tea drinking would not pose a risk
    to human health.

The degradation and metabolism of fluthiazolpidoped chiral enantiomer in animals has shown that R-type enantiomers can better bind to OSBP, and molecular docking technology also proves that R-type enantiomers bind to OSBP more firmly
    than S-type enantiomers.

The study provides a scientific basis
for a comprehensive evaluation of its application and risk assessment in tea gardens.
    The research has been funded
by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Innovation Project of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
