Academician Ding Jian appointed as Dean of Zhejiang University Cancer Institute

On March 3, the appointment ceremony of "Welcome to Zhejiang University" Academician Ding Jian Qiushi Chair Professor and Dean of the Cancer Institute of Zhejiang University was held on the Zijingang campus.

Professor Zheng Shu, vice chairman of the Development Committee of Zhejiang University and former deputy director of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress, attended the ceremony; on behalf of the school, Zhou Tianhua, the vice president of Zhejiang University, welcomed Academician Ding Jian to join, and awarded him a letter of appointment of Zhejiang University with the school badge.

Academician Ding Jian said that Zhejiang University's Oncology Department has always adhered to clinical orientation, and a group of experts and scholars with international academic influence have emerged.

Zhou Tianhua said that the joining of Academician Ding Jian will lead the Cancer Research Institute of Zhejiang University on a new journey, create an innovative synergy mechanism, strengthen the overall innovation of the whole chain of medicine linkage, the integration of medicine, industry and information technology, and the interaction of industry, university and research, and strive to build a highland of life and health science and technology.

Ding Jian is a tumor pharmacologist, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and an academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Developing Countries.

In January 2020, focusing on the urgent needs of national strategy, the frontiers of international academics, and the major issues facing human diseases and health, Zhejiang University coordinated the development of disciplines and established the Zhejiang University Cancer Institute, which will screen , diagnose and treat major malignant tumors early.
