!----. Plant protein intake can reduce cardiovascular death risk: https://doi.org/10.1136/bmj.m2412, researchers recently examined the relationship between protein intake and the risk of all-cause, cardiovascular disease and cancer death.this study is a systematic overview and meta-analysis, with a total of 31 studies.113,039 out of 715,128 participants died during the 3.5-32-year follow-up period (16,429 cases of cardiovascular disease and 22,303 cases of cancer).total protein intake is associated with a lower risk of all-cause death (combined effect 0.94).plant protein intake was significantly associated with a reduction in total cause mortality (0.92) and cardiovascular disease mortality (0.88), but not to cancer mortality. there was no significant correlation betweentotal protein and animal protein and risk of death from cardiovascular disease and cancer. there was a significant negative correlation between plant protein intakeand total cause mortality, and getting 3% extra energy per day from plant protein reduced the risk of all-cause death by 5%.: Gun-limited age and teen suicide risk doi: https://doi.org/10.1136/bmj.m2436 Researchers recently looked at the relationship between the minimum age at which u.s. teenagers are allowed to buy a gun and the risk of suicide.Missouri and South Carolina lowered the age at which they can be purchased in 2007 and 2008, respectively, while West Virginia and Wyoming raised the age of gun purchase in 2010., which limits the number of firearms to under-21s, has increased the suicide rate among 18- to 20-year-olds, compared with a policy that restricts the provision of firearms to under-21s, equivalent to 344 new suicides per state between 2001 and 2017.policy to restrict the provision of firearms to under-21s in the differential analysis reduced the number of suicides per 100,000 18-20-year-olds by 1.91 and firearms-related suicides by 1.83 per 100,000 adolescents.to relax the age limit on the purchase of firearms, the suicide rate of adolescents increased, and raising the age of gun purchase is not associated with suicide rate. The effects of diet on children's working memory: https://doi.org/10.1136/bmj.m2397 Researchers recently looked at the relationship between food and children's working memory and development in Guinea-Bissau.study recruited 1,059 children aged 15 months to 7 years and randomly received calorie-fortified food supplements (NEWSUP, which has calories of about 1,300 kJ, five times a week for 23 weeks, which are rich in plant polyphenols, omega 3 fatty acids, rich in a wide variety of trace elementins, high protein content), general fortified foods (FBF) or controlled meals (traditional rice breakfast).in children under 4 years of age, receiving THE NEWSUP diet was associated with an increasein working memory (rate 1.20).compared to FBF, NEWSUP increased the hemoglobin concentration in anaemic children (correction average difference of 0.65 g/dL, P-0.003), weight reduction index z score (-0.23), increased lean tissue content (2.98 cm2), and reduced fat content (-5.82 cm2)., NEWSUP increases the cerebral blood flow index (CBFi, 1.14 mm2/s x 10-8) compared to the control group and FBF. but in children 4 years and older, NEWSUP had no significant effect on working memory or anaemia, but had an increase in lean tissue content (4.31 cm2) compared to FBF.
