Objective : To determine whether intensive serum uric acid-lowering therapy improves bone erosion scores in patients with erosive go.
Objectives : To determine whether intensive serum uric acid-lowering therapy can improve bone erosion scores in patients with erosive go.
Methods : The research team conducted a 2- year double-blind randomized controlled trial of 104 participants with erosive gout who were receiving oral urate-lowering therapy and had a baseline serum uric acid level ≥ 30 mM/.
Methods The research team conducted a 2- year , double-blind, randomized controlled trial of 104 participants with erosive gout who were receiving oral urate-lowering therapy and had baseline serum uric acid levels ≥ 30 mM /.
Results Although serum uric acid levels in the intensive target group were significantly lower than those in the standard target group during the study period ( P=002 ), fewer participants in the intensive target group achieved randomized serum uric acid target levels at year 2 ( 62% vs standard targe.
CONCLUSIONS: Compared with the serum uric acid target of <30 mM/L , oral urate-lowering therapy does not significantly reduce serum uric aci.
