Methods We measured reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels, lipid peroxidation, and mitochondrial mass and polarization by flow cytometry, and production of interleukin 2 (IL-2) by dual-luciferase assay, measured by real-time polymerase chain Il2 CpG DNA methylation reaction syste.
As a result GLS2 , but not GLS1 , reduced ROS levels and lipid peroxidation in T cells and restored mitochondrial functio.
Conclusions These findings suggest that GLS2 plays a critical role in IL-2 production by CD4+ T cells by supporting antioxidant defense , and they provide a novel approach to correct T cell production of IL-2 in SL.
