Objectives: Recent advances suggest that mucosal surfaces are important early in the development of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), especially in anti-citrullinated protein antibody (ACPA)-positive disea.
Rheumatoid Arthritis Studies in RA include levels of secreted Ig including ACPA and possible extramucosal formati.
Three patient groups were studied: 1) ACPA -positive patients with musculoskeletal pain but no clinical arthritis, 2) patients with new-onset RA , and 3) patients with established R.
RESULTS: Compared with healthy controls, serum levels of total secreted IgA and total secreted IgM were increased in both early RA patients and high-risk patients ( P < 05 .
Conclusion: Circulating secretory Ig is elevated before and during the onset of R.
