Recently, the team of Professor Qu Lianghu and Yang Jianhua from the School of Life Sciences of Sun Yat-sen University published a research paper entitled "CREB1 contributes colorectal cancer cell plasticity by regulating lncRNA CCAT1 and NF-κB pathway" in Science China Life Sciences
The team used gene editing and RNAomic technologies to analyze a functional feature of the oncogene CREB1 in the regulation of cancer cell plasticity: knocking out the oncogene CREB1 in colon cancer cells inhibited cell proliferation and induced epithelial-mesenchymal cells.
In conclusion, this study elucidates the new mechanism of the oncogene CREB1 regulating the plasticity of colon cancer cells, indicating that precise tumor therapy must target the inhibition of cancer cell plasticity, that is, simultaneously inhibit the proliferation-promoting oncogene CREB1 and the promotion of metastasis in cancer cells.
Professor Qu Lianghu and Professor Yang Jianhua of the School of Life Sciences of Sun Yat-sen University are the co-corresponding authors of this work, and Dr.
