The official website of Liberia's "Daily Observer" reported on January 9 that a few days ago, L'Oven Bakery, a Lebanese-owned "love baking" bakery in Liberia, was ordered by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to close the store for rectification because it advertised the production of ice cream in the store's signboard and violated relevant regulations

The offending ad has been removed
from the signage.
The Liberia Investment Act of 2010 stipulates that foreigners can only produce ice cream if they work with Liberians and invest at least $500,000 in outside capital specifically for ice cream

Other similarly regulated industries include water bladders, sand mining, ice making, block making, hawkers, travel agencies, retail sales of rice and cement, tire repair shops, auto repair shops with an investment of less than $550,000, shoe repair shops, retail of timber and planks, gas stations, video clubs, taxi operations, import or sale of used clothes and import and sale of used cars
