The 2020 global sweetener list curated by the FoodTalks team has been released
According to the "Food Additives Use Standard (GB 2760-2014)", the European Union's Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008 standard document, and the North American FDA's High-Intensity Sweeteners Permitted for Use in Food standard document, the sweeteners approved for use Mainly divided into three categories, namely: synthetic sweeteners, natural sweeteners and sugar alcohol sweeteners
Among the companies on the list, Asian companies accounted for 66%, with a total of 33 companies; followed by North American companies, accounting for 20%, with a total of 10 companies; finally, European companies accounted for 14%, with a total of 7 companies
The top three companies are Cargill, ADM and Ingredion
It is worth mentioning that Yuanqi Forest, which is centered on the strategy of "0 sugar, 0 fat, 0 calories" and "health", has rapidly become popular in the past few years, making erythritol popular and driving the production of sweeteners
From the perspective of product sub-categories, the representative companies of sucralose in the list include Tailai, Jinhe Industry, Shandong Kangbao, Shandong Zhongyi and Yancheng Jiekang; the representative companies of erythritol are Cargill, Bowlingbao, Sanyuan Bio and Dongxiao Bio, etc.
