According to data published on the Eurostat website, EU sparkling wine exports fell for the first time in a decade in 2020

The announcement stated: “In 2020, the EU exported 495 million liters of sparkling wine to non-EU countries, a decline from 528 million liters in 2019.

This is the first decline in sparkling wine exports to regions outside the EU in ten years

The announcement also stated that in 2020 EU sparkling wine exports will decrease by 6% year-on-year, while champagne exports will decrease by more than 20% year-on-year
