Multiple sclerosis is an immune-related disease of the central nervous system.
On the occasion of World Multiple Sclerosis Day, the Beijing Pain Challenge Charity Foundation and Novartis Pharmaceuticals (China) jointly initiated and held the "One in Ten Thousand Beautiful" Multiple Sclerosis Day disease science popularization event on May 30.
Professor Zhou Hongyu from the Department of Neurology of West China Hospital of Sichuan University said: “Multiple sclerosis has diverse clinical manifestations, and different patients have different symptoms at different stages, which can easily be confused with other diseases.
In order to help patients understand multiple sclerosis in an all-round way, more than a dozen medical experts from the field of multiple sclerosis treatment across the country enthusiastically participated in the short video recording of multiple sclerosis science popularization.
Professor Jiao Yujuan of the Department of Neurology of the China-Japan Friendship Hospital said: “Although the current treatments cannot completely cure multiple sclerosis, there are several highly effective disease-correcting drugs in China that can prevent the recurrence of the disease and delay the progression of disability.
